Toyota Green Cars
Toyota green cars in 2010 are currently the worlds biggest producer of eco friendly cars, with the top selling Prius model. In 2009 the Prius took out the top selling car in Japan! They also developed their 1st Toyota hybrid car in the late 1970's. Toyota Motor Corporation announced way back in January 1992, their Earth Charter, a document outlining goals to develop and market low emission vehicles. In 1993 Toyota had been excluded from the US governments initiative PNGV (Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles) development which prompted Chairman Eiji Toyoda to create a secret project called G21, Global Car for the 21st Century. This basically led to the development of the Toyota Prius hybrid which was 1st released in 1997 in Japan. The next step in Toyota's green car development appears to be the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid which was on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. Toyota's plan is to release a Prius Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) for sale in 2012.
