Honda Hybrid Cars
Currently in 2010 there are three Honda hybrid cars available to purchase:
- Honda Civic hybrid Based on the popular Civic 5 seater, achieving 42 MPG US.
 - Honda Insight hybrid 2nd Generation Insight, also achieving 42 MPG US and seating 5.
 - Honda CRZ hybrid The stunning sport hybrid, achieves 37 MPG US and seats 2.
Honda Motor Co. have been making hybrid's since their release in 1999 of the 1st generation Insight which was discontinued in 2006. The original Insight still holds the record for the most fuel efficient hybrid car achieving a mileage rating of 70 MPG US (84 imp) (3.4 L/100km). It was only a 2 seater, 3 door hatchback and some of the main factors in it's exceptional fuel economy were it's reduced weight (1,847 lb (838 kg)) and low drag coefficient of only 0.25 which is the same as the current 3rd generation Toyota Prius.
