Eday Electric Car

The Eday electric car, Chinese built but Australian designed car is forecast to cost less than AUD10,000 when it goes on sale in 2012 in Australia. Just imagine if Eday Life the Australian owned company can pull it off, these little beauties will sell like hotcakes and may finally make ev's mainstream. They are planning to show the Eday ev at the Melbourne Motor Show in July 2011 so we'll keep you posted on progress.

Fast facts:

Power output - na

Driving range - 100 miles (160 kms)

Fuel - batteries

Seating - 4 persons

Details on the Eday Life website are fairly limited but they believe by 2020 that around 20% of vehicles in Australia will be electric.

The Eday ev will feature a iPad like screen to control the cars features. Just imagine never having to go to a petrol station again, not having to breathe in dangerous petrol fumes. Just get in the habit of plugging in when you arrive home.

As an example, the 1st users of the Chevy Volt have said it costs around US$1.50 per day to charge up for an average days driving and if you are using renewable energy then your carbon footprint could be nil, except for producing the car and replacing the batteries every 10 years.
