What you must remember is Hybrids are only a short term stepping stone on the path to non-oil cars or zero emission vehicles. If you can't afford a GM Volt, Nissan LEAF or Ford Focus then buy a hybrid and get half way to not having to buy dirty fossil fuels. Don't get me wrong 50 mpg plus is great but won't it be awesome when we are all driving around in totally non-polluting cars and the energy for powering them is coming 100% from wind, wave or solar energy! Yes it definitely is possible! Imagine how clean the air will be to breathe, you won't just breathe clean air when you leave the city but in the city too!
