Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid

Porsche 918 Spyder This prototype plug-in hybrid car from Porsche is absolutely stunning, named the Porsche 918 Spyder, it can accelerate to 100 km/h in just under 3.2 seconds.

Fast facts:

Power output - 160kW

Driving range - 16 miles (25 kms) electric only or hybrid (n/a)

Fuel - Gasoline & lithium-ion batteries

Seating - 2 persons

The 918 Spyder prototype combines high-tech racing features including emission level of just 70 grams CO2 per kilometre on fuel consumption of three litres/100 kilometres (equal to 94 mpg) truly outstanding even for a small city car.

Combined with the performance of a super sports car, top speed of 320 km/h (198 mph) plus, and a lap time on the Nordschleife of Nürburgring in less than 7:30 minutes, faster than even the Porsche Carrera GT.

The 918 Spyder can be driven in four different modes: E-Drive running in electric alone; Hybrid for various driving conditions, including very fuel efficient to when additional power is required; Sport Hybrid is designed to get the most power to the rear wheels and finally; Race Hybrid where as the name suggests the drive systems provide pure performance.
