The Honda hydrogen car does not use oil therefore it is using domestic fuel, fuel produced in the United States. Hydrogen can be produced from a varity of sources including solar but is mainly fossil fuel derived.

1st introduced in 1999 and now in its 2nd generation the Honda hydrogen car FCX Clarity is only leased in California and Japan with each car costing approx. $300,000 to produce.
